Over 90 community members - of all ages & abilities - came out to the Crossings last month! We created a spectacle while using to the crosswalks to bring attention about the difficulties & dangerous conditions of this intersection, especially for pedestrians who need more time to cross.
THANK YOU to all the participants & supporters of our campaign to improve the Bloomfield Bridge Intersection!
The Crossings: Bloomfield is a social action spectacle that brings awareness to the pedestrian challenges of the Liberty Avenue and Main Street intersection at the Bloomfield Bridge. This large and complicated intersection has seen many close-call collisions, and residents have expressed a need to make it more pedestrian-friendly, particularly for those who may require more time to cross such as young children and the elderly.
That’s where the Crossings: Bloomfield comes in. This 2-hour event will demonstrate first-hand the danger of crossing the intersection at the gateway of Bloomfield by playing music, dressing in costumes, and “putting on a show” for drivers, residents, government officials and media.
WEDNESDAY, 10/18 The Crossings: Bloomfield 4PM - 6PM @ Bloomfield Bridge // Liberty Ave. // Main St. FREE! RSVP HERE! Or just show up any time! Facebook Event page HERE!
Join us afterwards for a family-friendly celebration at Jabo's Smoque House & Saloon. Come meet some neighbors!
