WED 10/09 Event: (speed) Hump Day // Viewing Party

Edmond Street just received 3 speed humps! Come on down to celebrate the half-way-point of the week (Hump Day!), AND the new traffic calming tools (Speed Humps!) with some Bloomfield neighbors!

WEDNESDAY, OCT. 9TH

All welcomed! Come any time!
Facebook Event Page HERE!

Like an outdoor movie screening, neighbors will be viewing from the sidewalk how drivers interact with the new speed humps. Join our viewing party for a fun evening of meeting new neighbors, and learning how traffic calming tools (like speed humps) work.

To view each of the 3 speed humps, the viewing party will be “roaming”, starting at the southern hump closest to Friendship Ave. We will spend about 30 minutes at each hump, ending at 6:30 at the northern hump closest to Penn Ave. There will be a roaming COOKIE TABLE as well; bring some snacks to share with neighbors!

Bring:
– Lawn Chairs
– Cookies / Snacks
– Sign making materials (“Thanks for driving slowly”, and other signs to remind drivers to be safe)

Want to know how Bloomfield got speed humps on Edmond St.? Here is a history of efforts by neighbors, Bloomfield Development Corporation, and Bloomfield Livable Streets to address safety concerns caused by speeding drivers on this narrow residential street. Thanks to the Department of Mobility & Infrastructure and Pittsburgh District 7 City Councilmember Deborah Gross for addressing our concerns!
