FRI 09/18/2015 Event: PARK(ing) Day // Bloomfield

Let’s re-imagine the most ubiquitous public space in Bloomfield: the Parking Space!

PARK(ing) Day Pittsburgh, now in its 8th year, is a city-wide and international event that re-imagines parking spaces into places for people. And Bloomfield Livable Streets will be hosting a “parklet” on our beautiful Liberty Ave. Business Corridor at State Way. Come celebrate with us!

BLS is lining everything up to have one (potentially two) parking spaces at State Way and Liberty Ave.
Space #1 – Picnic and Games
Space #2 – Bike Fix-It Station

According to Thor Erickson, a member of 2014’s all-volunteer organizing committee, “It’s important to note that PARK(ing) Day is not an attack on cars. Instead, Erickson says, it’s an opportunity to study how people use a space at different times of the day and then consider how to blend those uses together.”

**We need you! Help BLS put on the 2nd annual Park(ing) Day in Bloomfield, we need people to hang-out, activate the space, chat with passersby, and have a good time on Liberty Ave.  Sign up here!**
